"Helen Straight Up"

Today was a great day of WOD's!  Trained at StoneWay CrossFit. I had my original WOD scheduled today and as the day went on I added one more WOD.  We were doing "Helen Straight Up" at our box today and it looked too fun to pass up so I did that first.  I wasn't sure what would be worse this version of "Helen" or the original.  Overall they both are awesome the "HSU" tanks you out. Did WOD #2 about 20 minutes post "HSU" and it was good.  As you can see the invented "rope" for the rope climbing section.

#1st WOD
"Helen Straight Up"

1200m Run
63 KB Swing, #53
36 Pull-ups
Time-9:04

#2nd WOD

Complete AMRAP in 4 minutes:
10 "towel/rope" climb
15 back extension
10 push-ups
rest 2:30
Repeat 4 complete cycles

Total rounds completed per round:
3/3/4/4

Skill
a) Handstand Hold (wall-free)
5s/7s/11s
b) Handstand Hold (against wall)
60s/65s/70s

As always the Handstand hold was challenging but it felt easier than last time I did hold.  I also Pr'd my best today with the 70 second hold.  For the 2nd WOD I had to improvise the "rope climb" with a towel.  I learned about 6 months ago how to mimic a rope climb with the towel so I did that today.  I wish I a picture to show how I did it.  I did back extension with a ball, the ROM sucked but I gave all I could.  After I was done I headed straight over to Mercer Island CrossFit for my5pm and 6pm class.

I'm siked for tomorrow!
