There are many things that went great today in my workouts. I hit a new PR for my deadlift. My Deadlift was previously #375 and I had been stuck at that weight for awhile but today I jumped up to #385! I was really siked about this because my 1st attempt was a "no go". I told Corey that I would give myself 60 seconds and then try once more. After a minute had passed I stepped up to the weight and gripped the bar and stood up and pulled as hard as I could. So regarding my deadlift I am a happy man!
Corey's been doing a great job this past week getting me ready for this upcoming weekend. I did a "run through" with the HSPU on Sunday and I could not complete 40 reps under 5 minutes. That honestly started to mess with my head and overall thoughts. But I also knew it was just practice. Well today I wanted to try a new "game plan". I know for a fact that I can do 15 HSPU in a row but after that I'm pretty tanked, so I thought,"what if I do 4 reps at a time?" Corey suggested at least 5 reps there would only be 8 rounds rather than 10. So my new game plan was to do 5 reps every 30 seconds. If I can keep this pace I can finish my HSPU in 4 minutes. So that is exactly what I did for today's "run through" (40 HSPU and 40 Front Squats, #155).
Sunday it took me over 8 minutes to finish my HSPU and today it took me 3:47 to finish all of them. Quickly I moved to my front squats and my only issue was my wrist so I taped it a little tighter after my first 4 reps. This is a heavy lift doing it 40 times but all I have to do it just get it over with. After all was said and done I completed the entire WOD at 9:31. I was siked out of my mind because not only did I complete each of these moves I did finish under 10 minutes. Now I have a time to beat this weekend.
