For the whole time I've been CrossFitting (1 year, 2 months) I have been collapsing to the ground from exhaustion after most of my hard workouts. This has been what I would look forward just to keep my spirits high during the WOD. I would be doing my workout in my globo gym and would be just sprawled on the floor post-workout. Well things are going to change. While watching Mikko on crossfit.com/journal one of the camera men asked him right after doing "Fran" if he was tired after doing it and why he doesn't lay on the ground? Mikko said," I don't lay on my back", "When an animal submits it lays on its back", "so I never lay on my back".
As of 2/21/10 I will never "lay on my back" after a workout. I may take a "knee" or "sit down" but you will never catch me on my back.
Now, regarding my workout today. I knew that today was going to be hard. I text Corey earlier today and asked him what he had in stored for me? His response, "you'll see when you get there".
I saw today's WOD on the board and knew I had to take 1 rep at a time. After I got my 1st 15 HSPU my progression to 40 slowed down rapidly. The 1000m row was alright but it was the 10 snatches (full) that felt good. If I caught it too high my quads felt it but when I pulled under the bar it was easy.
Tomorrow's going to be a gymnastic (body weight) workout with some skills in the beginning. I'll be doing my WOD at 2pm tomorrow.
